Nafiz Azman CA has helped raise funds for charity, leading him to be recognised as the 2019 Young CA Regional Advocate, ACT.

Nafiz Azman CA has been involved with ACT Young Chartered Accountants since early 2017 and is currently the YCA ACT Regional Council representative. His contributions to organising trivia nights and other events have helped raise thousands of dollars for charities such as Beyond Blue.
“The biggest challenge is meeting everyone's expectations for the events, including our partners and stakeholders,” he says. “Afterwards, we take a step back and try to make sure we do better the next year. And for the last few years, it's been quite remarkable. The feedback has been really positive.
Azman has also been instrumental in organising professional development events in his community, where local entrepreneurs and business leaders share their experiences and insights.
“These events help us understand business better, because we get to see it from the other side and not just from an client-consultant perspective.”
Azman started his accounting career in 2010 and in 2016 joined Callida Consulting, which has provided him the opportunity to consult to major public sector organisations, including for the Department of Health and Australian Federal Police.

Azman was recently named the CA ANZ 2019 Young CA Regional Advocate, ACT. He is one of 12 Young CA Regional Advocates, who are shortlisted for the 2019 President’s Prize, to be announced in late 2019. The prize recognises CA ANZ members under 35 who have made an outstanding commitment to the accounting profession and have used their skills in service of their local community.
