About Robert Brown FCA
Robert Brown AM BEc (Syd) FCA is a chartered accountant with many years’ experience in public
practice, specialising in superannuation, taxation, financial advice and
ethics. He writes and speaks extensively about the industry and has authored
many technical papers and opinion pieces in professional journals, industry
magazines and national newspapers.
He is an Air Commodore in the
Royal Australian Air Force and is Chairman of the Australian Defence ForceFinancial Services Consumer Centre which he helped to establish in 2006. The
Centre’s activities include a wide range of independent financial education
programs specifically designed for over 80,000 Australian Navy, Army and Air
Force personnel.
He is a member of the
Australian government’s Financial Literacy Board and the Australian Securities
and Investments Commission’s Consumer Advisory Panel. Robert is also a director
of Financial Literacy Australia Limited, a not-for-profit charity, the role of
which is to fund worthwhile and promising financial literacy projects through
its public grants program.
Robert is a Member of the
Order of Australia (AM) which was awarded in 2013 for his contribution to the
superannuation industry.
