American Express Charge Cards provide flexible spending power1, also known as no-preset spending limit. The amount you can spend is dynamic – it can adapt based on your transaction patterns, your business’s credit rating and other factors. On select Australian American Express Business Cards, you can also defer payment on purchases for up to 55 cash flow days2.

Flexible payment option

For greater cash flow flexibility, you can take advantage of a Flexible Payment Option (FPO)3. This allows you to pay off a portion of your balance, with interest, over time up to your FPO limit – a helpful safety net when costs are high.

Pay all of your suppliers with your card

With AccessLine4 you can use your Australian American Express Business Charge Card to pay virtually any supplier in Australia by depositing cash directly into their bank account, even if they don’t accept card payments. Once you have applied for AccessLine functionality and been approved, it can help you pay suppliers at the right time in your billing cycle to maximise your cash flow. You can also pay suppliers faster, which could strengthen relationships. You can even earn reward points5 on every business expense, including ATO and government-related costs.

Financial clarity and control

An American Express Business Charge Card makes it easy to keep your business and personal spending separate. Detailed transaction records allow you to track expenses, plus you can integrate your card with popular accounting and expense management software. Depending on your method of payment, when you make a purchase, when your statement is issued and whether or not you are carrying forward a balance on your account from your previous statement period. If you pay by direct debit, your payment will be processed 10 days after your statement is issued. 3. With Flexible Payment Option, you will be charged interest if you do not pay your Closing Balance in full by the due date each month.
