Do your clients have the right payroll solution?
Your SME clients are busy and require payday to be easy. A tailored payroll solution, comprehensive staff training and ongoing customer support will save everyone time and money. Brought to you by iPayroll.
Payroll technology has advanced significantly in the past decade, promising the silver linings of streamlined processes and bottom-line savings. There is a catch, though. No payroll technology is a one-size-fits-all solution, and its introduction can create issues.
In a 2023 survey conducted by the Australian Payroll Association, more than one in three companies said the biggest challenge they are currently facing is payroll technology and processes. Aligning technology with a company’s processes can be problematic, and payroll staff may end up resorting to manual processes and workarounds.
Tailoring technology for the business
When a business chooses a payroll solution, it will still need help to set-up the system to meet the unique needs of the business and industry. It’s important to choose a provider who can tailor the software correctly, train the payroll staff in the new system and be available via phone and email when they need help.
Tile specialist BelloCasa in Wellington chose to use iPayroll as its payroll partner.
“I keep recommending iPayroll to everyone I know in business,” says business owner Michael Rompelberg. “Once it is set up (and iPayroll does most of this for you), paying staff is extremely easy and takes no time at all. And I love how it integrates with Xero.”
Trained and confident
There are inevitable sticking points when it comes to introducing and then using new software. A good payroll solution will provide payroll staff with training, so they feel confident using the system and can access reports and insights from the software, too.
“As a contract business administrator, I have been doing payrolls and finances for the Rodney Wayne Franchise group for over 10 years and have always used iPayroll,” says Ray Wong. “I have used several other payroll companies in the past and my definite preference is for the iPayroll system.
“I currently do the payroll for eight Rodney Wayne stores throughout the country, with staff numbers ranging from six to 15. It’s an easy system to use, with an efficient, friendly helpdesk contactable by email or by phone. It also has a particularly extensive and easy-to-access reporting system.”
Ongoing support
As anyone who has ever had an issue with customer support knows, sometimes you really need personalised support to sort out a problem quickly – especially on payday! iPayroll provides free, ongoing support to its customers. Calls for help are answered promptly (sometimes even in seconds), to make sure everyone in the company gets paid correctly and on time.
CTRL Space, a fast-growing architect business in Auckland, has regularly called on iPayroll’s support team.
“The help I received was second to none, the set-up was seamless and I have used the customer service helpline many times and my many silly questions were always answered thoroughly and thoughtfully,” says CTRL Space’s Susie Easterbrook.
