Payroll technology has advanced significantly in the past decade, promising the silver linings of streamlined processes and bottom-line savings. There is a catch, though. No payroll technology is a one-size-fits-all solution, and its introduction can create issues.

In a 2023 survey conducted by the Australian Payroll Association, more than one in three companies said the biggest challenge they are currently facing is payroll technology and processes.
